So much to comment on but I love the conclusion. To me, the old trope that the enemy of my enemy is my friend is a fallacy for the shortsighted. There's a good chance that the enemy of my enemy is just a bigger enemy to me. The Republicans being less wrong about COVID, guns, etc is just a coincidence of politics rather than an indicator of good intent. Both parties have divided up societies social issues like a pickup game and neither actually cares about what platform they're campaigning on. It's just a talking point for gaining and maintaining power over the tax paying/voting base.
Once more for those in the back! This is 100% true. There’s no way most conservatives would be, well, woke to stakeholder capitalism if it benefited them. We know this because the most vociferous critics of progressive hegemony within conservative spaces have openly advocated for administrative coups (e.g. JD Vance). Any libertarian or post-leftist or populist who is fine with such a proposition is not a principled person and should never be taken seriously or seen as anything other than a useful idiot.
I think I mentioned it to you, but Woke Inc is worth a read, even if you don't agree with the stance from which Vivek Ramaswamy is coming from. I especially appreciated it because he showed a little bit of that practical-minded, even progressive tendency to have creative solutions to the problems he highlighted rather than just being a whingy conservative who can only use sledgehammers to kill flies.

Whew! So many good ideas and expressed so well. Much to chew on, and further reading needed, as always.
